Sprouted Planner 2024

I just got a large Sprouted Planner order! In this post, I will share what I got (spoiler: four planners and a notepad) and how I plan to use them in 2024.

About Sprouted Planner

Sprouted Planner is a small independent planner company based in the USA. It's a one-woman company, created and run by Heather. She designed the original Sprouted Planner in response to her own needs during an extremely difficult time in her life. Her aim was to create a planner that supported her:

After going through life changing events, I learned what was truly important:

BEING INTENTIONAL, TAKING THE TIME TO REFLECT, SIMPLE SPACES, and PEOPLE.

Knowing there are so many others out there who need a minimal yet meaningful planner, I created the Sprouted Planner.

Its name was inspired by the Jack Kornfield quote: "Be mindful of intention. Intention is the seed that creates our future."

One particular part of her story resonated with me very strongly:

The planner I had during that time did not serve me well since I wasn't goal setting, or tracking habits, or keeping count of how much water I consumed in the day. There is nothing wrong with those things, but I had zero capacity to do them.

Even having them on the page added to the overwhelm.

As someone who struggles with goal planning, to the point of feeling anxiety increasing when I watch goal planner reviews or try to habit track, this really spoke to me.

The haul

So . . . I bought a lot. This is most of my 2024 stack.

I promise I do have a use for all of them. I looked at a lot of planner options this release season. My original plan was to get things from a few different companies - but Heather's planner layout design this year is so fantastic, I kept coming back to her planners when researching options.

Monthly

The monthly is approximately A5 size, with sewn binding. I'm going to use it for anything that I want to keep past the end of 2024: mainly health tracking, gratitudes, and wins. It'll allow me to have my gratitudes and wins open on a stand beside my desk, rather than tucked away in another planner, which I think will be helpful.

Weekly hourly

This is new to Sprouted Planner this year, and I'm really excited about it. It offers generous space for todos and notes, which is a bit unusual for an hourly.

As in previous years, this is my weekly personal planner: I like to be able to visualise the shape of my week, track timelined todos, and keep a weely todo list.

Daily

I'm so excited for the daily. I'll use it to bring together a few things that are currently scattered around:

• Lists: must-dos, need to do if possible, want to do.
• Daily timelined todos and visualising the shape of my day.
• Micro-journaling.

I'm going to work through Sprouted Planner's reflection system in the daily as well.

Weekly horizontal (2023)

This was my impulse purchase. I'd looked at the horizontal before as a possible work planner, but I'm happy in my current one. However, the 2023 planner was reduced to $16. I decided to pick it up to experiment with, and in case I wanted to switch away from hourly work planning. I will at minimum need something to cover the last four months of 2024, as my current work planner is on the academic year.

Daily notepad

This one isn't for me! A friend who just got a new job wants to try out daily planning.

I love the notepad options at Sprouted Planner: they're a great way to try out a different type of planning without committing to a planner. You can also use them to supplement your main planner.

Wrap up

I'm delighted to have found flexible, good-quality planners, that fit my mindset: our planners should support us, not the other way round. I'm excited for 2024. And let's be realistic, that 2023 planner is getting started immediately, never mind re-dating.
